Poetry Pg. 2 Poetry Pablo Neruda Pg. 14 1. The speaker in this poem is the persona, because first person is used (I). 2. The casing of the speaker changes from the beginning of the poem to the end. At the beginning the pillowcase is unsure in his words and actions, cant arouse an answer to his questions: I acceptt have a go at it, I mountt know where it came from, from winter or a river. I dont know how or when, I did non know what to say. The character has also lost his identity: in that respect I was without a face, my eyes were ruse. By the end of the poem, the speaker finds himself as occasion of something, part of the spoil, mystery, part of the abyss.
